Jake Paul, ieri, ha stupito tutti, annunciando che nel 2023 debutterà nelle arti marziali miste avendo siglato un contratto pluriennale con PFL.
L’accordo di Paul con la Professional Fighters League prevede che l’ex YouTuber acquisisca anche delle quote dell’organizzazione divenendone socio.
L’annuncio ha ovviamente sollevato molto clamore nell’ambito degli sport da combattimento e suscitato diverse reazioni perchè stavolta, al contrario della sua escursione nel mondo della boxe, Jake Paul dovrebbe essere costretto ad affrontare dei combattenti di arti marziali miste nel loro ambito d’esperienza, esponendosi a rischi molto più elevati.
Jake Paul fa una stupidaggine secondo Conor McGregor
In un Tweet, poi cancellato, Conor McGregor ha reagito con disappunto alla scelta di Jake Paul di dedicarsi alle MMA.
Conor ha dichiarato che secondo lui The Problem Child sta facendo una stupidaggine a rinunciare a gran parte delle borse che la boxe gli avrebbe assicurato e che l’essere entrato in possesso di azioni di PFL non gli porterà nulla di buono.
Di tutt’altro tono i commenti di molti altri combattenti che, immediatamente, hanno inziato a proporsi come possibili avversari della nuova gallina dalle uova d’oro.

Big John McCarthy, storico arbitro e commentatore di MMA, si è complimentato per la scelta operata dal Problem Child che, secondo lui, avrà ricadute positive in termini di business per il team dell’ex youtuber. Lo stesso McCarthy, invece, non è del tutto sicuro che a PFL gioverà tale accordo.
Attestati di stima per la scelta coraggiosa sono arrivati anche da Derek Brunson, Renato Moicano, Terence McKinney e Kyle Daukaus.
